B-Grade sandstone provides a balance of strength, durability, and natural character at a more economical price point than A-Grade. Each block has slightly looser tolerances and more rustic edges, while still delivering a highly functional retaining wall.
B-Grade sandstone blocks are partially sawn and partially split, generally four workable faces. Dimensional tolerances are wider than A-Grade, requiring greater on-site adjustment and placement during construction.
Block sizes are usually 1000 mm in length, 500 mm in height, and 500 mm in depth, though irregularities are more common due to quarrying methods. The compressive strength remains suitable for engineered retaining wall applications, but installation may involve increased time for fitting and levelling.
Recommended for projects for all types of retaining, including seating, boundary walls, garden features, or informal landscapes. It is valued for its affordability, strength, and more natural aesthetic.
